Grant Hood left Cape Town on 30th March 2011 to compete in the Marathon des Sables. He undertook a challenge so tough, so unbelievably insane, sacrificing his own interest for the interest of others.
Without thinking twice, Grant went ahead with his second Marathon des Sables. He took on the challenge and pushed himself to the max. His perseverance through unforgivable desert conditions is something one cannot imagine. He walked for Walkoncemore, for those suffering from spinal cord injury.
The mental state of the mind has got to B! strong and solid because when the going gets tough the tough keep going.
Grant competed and completed the gruelling six day 254km ultra-marathon equivalent to six regular marathons. Taking one step at a time because he can. This remarkable man did it all on behalf of the UK Spinal Cord Injury cure research charity, Walkoncemore and he single handedly raised £4,635.00
The marathon is over for this year, but raising money is never over, please still donate to this worthy cause.
