Delaire

Cape Town Buzz decided to widen the hive’s horizons with the joining of BuzzyB! to the team and what better place to start than with the Delaire Graff Estate. Situated in the spectacular setting of the Helshoogte Pass in the Banhoek Valley, owner Lawrence Graff and International Architect/Interior Designer David Collins have raised African chic to a new level.

A glorious mixture of Cape Dutch and contemporary architecture shows stunning design and a superb art collection. Both international and local artists and sculptors such as Deborah Bell, William Kentridge, Fred Schimmel, Nicolas Moreton, Sydney Kumalo, Dylan Lewis, Anton and Lionel Smit to name but a few are on display in and around the estate.

Visit the Graff Diamond Salon (a very private affair), and the 100% Capri Boutique to experience European retail luxury.

There are two restaurants to choose from, The Graff Restaurant (bistro chic) and Indochine, offering modern Asian inspired cuisine. We had a peek at the Spa facilities and sat sipping a delicious glass of Sauvignon Blanc on the terrace overlooking the gardens designed by Keith Kirsten. BuzzyB! and QueenB! resolved to take time out very soon from their busy lives to put the spa to the test.

What a perfectly buzzy way to spend a day in the Winelands. B! prepared to pay, Delaire is not cheap.
