La Petite Dauphine

There is nothing small about La Petite Dauphine. This historical working fruit & wine Guest Farm on the outskirts of Franschoek is magical, peaceful and stunning.

When we arrived in the late afternoon, the light was fading, playing tricks with the long shadows of the day. As we watched a spectacular sunset, the dramatic sky turned from yellow to orange, red and rose, I knew that soon the moon would be in its place and show its face and the day would be gone.

The accommodation in the Guest Farm reminded me of Provence. The rooms are classic and cozy and the grounds are private and spacious.

On the patio of the old Café Bon Bon you will find at any time of day a tasteful menu to experience that will satisfy your palette. The astonishing mountain views are perfect backdrop to this little paradise. It’s like finding apearl in an oyster.

After dinner we wondered through to the library for a brandy, and a tinkle on the piano. This magnificent room is steeped with character and objects from around the world, charming and chic in every way.

We sipped our brandies and remarked on what a perfect day it had been and what a wonderful way to end the day.

QueenB!………Abuzzing off

I will and have since visited La Petite Daulphine. Why? To repeat this magical experience because that’s just what it is.

Buzz worthy!
