Lux* Launch

A quick buzz-over to the ile de Mauritius to see the re-birth of the Naiade Resorts group launch as LUX*with the slogan, Lighter Brighter. Offering a ‘simpler, more relaxed level of individual luxury…’

What a party it was! Attended by the Great and the Good of the island and the global luxury travel industry, the party was a superb evening under the stars (buzzed: Ms Kelly Hoppen the Diva of Taupe, Ms Jo-Ann Strauss from our very own Top Billing, Navin Ramgoolam Prime Minister of Mauritius to name drop just a few).

Hosted by the Lux* CEO Paul Jones at the beautiful Lux* La Morne hotel, the philosophy is to offer luxury experiences that are simple, fresh and personal within the signature concept of ‘island light’ which was presented to guests in a series of fantastic performances choreographed by the talented Mr Piers Schmidt from Luxury Branding Cape Town.

The evening kicked off with not just any fiddler on the roof – in fact the world’s leading violinist Charlie Siem, a buffet by the head chefs from the Lux* group served in tiny tasting dishes, a jaw-dropping performance by Steve Sidwell supported by the best sounding band in the world, a superb stage show of local dancers and then dancing bare-foot in the pool to superb British DJ duo-extraordinaire Ben Bridgewater and Dan Lywood, South Africa’s own Goldfish and all ending in delicious coffee offerings by Cape Town’s own roaster-toasters: Jed and Wolf-man-Carl from Deluxe Coffee Works. Phew….Lighter and brighter were definitely the buzz words of the night…!!
