Cape Town – Peninsula

Cape Town is one of the chosen Wonders of the World. It’s a very special place to live and a very special place to love.  The Cape is spectacular! It’s a highway to heaven and a byway to nothing, short of bliss! Around every nook and cranny, it’s simply a paradise on earth. You will be enchanted by the beauty of the sunsets, the magnificent mountains, the forests and the ocean.

Start off at Chapmans Peak hotel for a coffee, then drive over the Peak and experience the breath-taking views all the way into Noordhoek. Stop for a walk on the beach and carry on through to Scarbrough. Stick to the coastline and go through Misty Cliffs, where the surfers hang and dolphins come out to play.

Then head off in the direction of the Point. Keep your eyes open for baboons –  DO NOT FEED THE BABOONS! Go into the reserve at the Point and see the two oceans meet, my advice, have lunch at the Two Oceans Restaurant. The crayfish is yummy!

Continue your journey back through Simon’s Town, then stop at Boulders Beach to see the penguins. The Scratch Patch just before Kalk Bay is fun – you can collect your own mix of semi-precious stones that make a great gift for someone. Kalk Bay should be the next port of call. Have a Mojito’s at Cape to Cuba, they are pretty good! A stroll down the main road you will find a few bric-a-brac antique shops and an overflow of china at, Whatnot & China Town. I usually find something in Kalk Bay. Big Blue is a fun shop for crazy stuff and ‘Memory Lane’ sometimes has good bargains. Go to the Olympia café for mussels (the best in town) and end off the day at the Polana overlooking the ocean for sun-downers. African drums are often on the spot. So get with the beat and enjoy the African heat.

QueenB!……..Abuzzing off
