Buzz Restaurants

Welcome to Sunny Cape Town!

Be in the know about the buzz, where to go, what to do and how to do it gastronomically! My recommendations are based on an everyday lifestyle in Cape Town and with that comes my personal taste and experiences.

Pot Luck Club: This is an experience of note! Luke has done it again. His innovative imagination, style, creativity and method in the culinary world have once again taken his diners by mouth-watering storm!tumblr_lyys143bnh1qlsm54 The only downside is that it’s all so delicious you just can’t stop until, you’ve tried it all! The view from the club is great! The staff – on the ball and the rest goes without saying.

Bizerca Bistro: Has moved to Heritage Square. I love this restaurant it is just amazing! It will drive you berserk with the culinary flavours that are subtle and pure. The delicate tastes are sensational and yet wild! When it comes to awakening the senses and arousing your taste buds you can B! sure Bizerca is a food orgasm!

Grand Cafe & Beach: This tranquil spot on the beach in Granger Bay is magical any time of day. It is the only beach restaurant in Cape Town so far. Unfortunately it is not a swimming beach. My favourite time is just before sunset, sipping a glass of wine overlooking the ocean.  It is best to book on weekends.

The Bungalow: The relaxed atmosphere at the Bungalow is really chilled. It is second on my list. Lunch time during the week is great, weekends are more fun. The view is fantastic! The interior is upbeat and well done. My favourite spot is on the deck facing the ocean, or on a lounger watching the sunset. The evenings take on a whole new persona.

Tashas: Day in and day out Tashas is jam packed. From one end of the scale to the other, they have found the balance in a variety of dishes that have been tweaked to perfection! They have put together the right formula and it works. First come first served so the wait, can B! long. But! you can sip on a glass of wine on a sofa while you wait, it is so worth it. Only open for lunch and also open on Mondays. No bookings

Burrata: Is food for thought and when it comes to Burrata, there’s not much to think about. It’s simply divine all round. It’s new; it’s edgy, modern and relaxed. Situated in the courtyard of the Biscuit Mill it blends with the atmosphere on market days so it’s best to book. During the week it’s peaceful and chilled.

Salushi: Is my favourite sushi restaurant in Cape Town. It’s in Claremont, this bussy hub is always good. You must go! Sushi lovers are happy and content because of the top quality sushi. Here’s the deal –  50% off all day Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, and from 2-5pm Wednesday, Thursday and Fridays. You must book!

Cape to Cuba: Eccentric! Cool and voted one of the top 100 hip restaurants in the world, Cape to Cuba has achieved the South American Havana buzz.  The mojito’s are spot on and the food is basic and good.  They have some crazy events on, but you need to check for up dates.

Beefcakes: Best little beefcakes in town. Now if you looking for fun, food, laughter, and a drag show, this is the only place to go! Princess Pop is fantastic! Thursday nights is show time at Beefcakes and what a buzz it is. You must book. This is one show you don’t want to miss, it is the best!

Beluga: Is a safe, great choice, it’s relaxed with a buzz factor. You get the feeling that you could B! anywhere in the world. The atmosphere at Beluga in the courtyard on a summer’s day is awesome! The food ranges from a full dim sum and sushi menu, to seafood, steak and Asian-inspired dishes. Inside is fun and the interior works.

Paranga: On sunset drive in Camps Bay is always a great place to eat. The food is wholesome and good and the view is sensational! Lunch or dinner it’s easy. Come off the beach and grab something to eat B!fore a siesta. Or later on at dinner time at Paranga you will find it relaxed and the sunsets are magical! You will not B! disappointed with this summer time fever.
