Wine Estates

Wine Estates encompass many of our favorite little joys in life, wine tasting, lunch, dinner, picnics, spa treatments and, of course, the overnight stay at the end of an enchanting day. I will update my favorite wine estates on a regular basis.

Delaire Graff Estate: is for me, in a class of it’s own. It’s Swiss perfection! Nothing less only more, nothing has been left to chance, except the magnificent views.  Stay over night and experience the full Delaire treatment, the wine tasting, the spa, the restaurants. Everything at your finger tips. When you have the best, why go for less? This is why I like it!

Babylonstoren: I like to think of it as the beautiful hanging gardens of Babylonstoren, it is quite unique. I’m in love with the Dutch farm architecture that dates bake to 1690. The breath-taking landscapes of the Drakenstein Valley, the botanical gardens, vinyards and orchards are picture perfect and a stay over to unwind and relax, will do wonders for your soul. Bookings for the resturant are essential.

Tasting per person is R30.00, or do a little cellar tour and wine tasting for only R40.00. There is a daily adventure wine tour for R200.00 per person,  but this you must book in advance.

Specializing in classic varieties suited to the different soils and slopes. The view from the terrace is absolutely breath-taking. Don’t B! surprised if hear soft music coming from the vineyards. Apparently grapes grow well with classic music.

Home-made bread, fabulous traditional dishes, home-made cakes, wine tasting, fabulous gardens and views.

Cheese and wine goes hand in hand. Best to book and while you at it, take down directions. Open 7 days a week. Enjoy!
