You may have noticed a new kid on the block along the Constantia wine route from the Constantia Nek towards suburban Constantia in Cape Town – Chef Charmaine Lilje, formerly a chef of award-winning restaurant La Colombe and Olympia Café, is now the proud owner of Chardonnay Chefs and Deli.

Charmaine’s culinary skills from A to Z are diverse, unique, imaginative and creative. She passionately prepares mouth watering dishes of the day, using fresh in season organic produce, producing scrumptious tastes that please the palate.

The deli side of the business is in one of the older outpost farm stalls in the valley. Dating back a hundred years with all the charm of yesterday, you can enjoy eating in the little garden among the old oak trees and the twittering of birds.

On the other side of the frying pan, Chardonnay Chefs’ reputation is fast becoming that of one of the leading private chefs in Cape Town. Charmaine and her manager, Craig Hancock, go about their business catering for intimate private dinners, occasions and events. Their motto is fuss-free exclusive catering with a flair, a wide variety of delicious meals – from ambrosial canapés, all the way through to multi-course dinner menus.

For me it will become my little outpost on the spur of the moment for a delicious little something from Yes! Chef
