I like to think of it as the beautiful hanging gardens of Babylonstoren, it is quite unique. I’m in love with the Dutch farm architecture that dates back to 1690. The breath-taking landscapes of the Drakenstein Valley, the botanical gardens, vineyards and orchards are picture perfect and a stay over to unwind and relax, will do wonders for your soul. Gary and Kathy Jordan have been making world-class wines since 1993, on a farm with a history going back over 300 years. Specializing in classic varieties suited to the different soils and slopes. The view from the terrace is absolutely breath-taking. Don’t B! surprised if hear soft music coming from the vineyards. Apparently grapes grow well with classic music.

I like to think of Fairview, which is in the direction of Stellenbosh and only 40 mins away, as my little Cape Provence. In my point of view this enchanting spot has a fair view and it’s really great for Sunday lunch, or a mid-week drive. It has become one of my favourite summertime haunts. Cheese and wine goes hand in hand. Best to book and while you at it, take down directions. Open 7 days a week. Enjoy!

Is in Franschhoek and it is a guest farm. An overnight stay is worth it. On our arrival we were greeted with a glass of bubbly. The farm is run by a charming gay couple with the cutest little dog. The cottages are intimate and cosy.Café Bon Bon on the farm is fabulous! Home-made bread, fabulous traditional dishes, home-made cakes, wine tasting, fabulous gardens and views.
