Here is a list of theaters in and around Cape Town, purely for your pleasure. Be in the know with the info provided. My recommendations are based on my personal opinion. I will update on a regular basis.
The Artscape Theatre
Cape Town’s premier performing arts venue is the magnificent Artscape theatre complex. It features four theatres that play host to everything from large-scale operas and internationally renowned ballet performances to popular musicals.
The Baxter celebrates live theatre, music, dance, and plays. It is one of the major live theatre venues in Cape Town. Even though I find the architecture grotesque with no charm or beauty. The acoustics are very good the creative productions that take place within the heart of a soulless building is what matters.
The Willowbrigde Barnyard Theatre in Cape Town’s Northern Suburbs offers highly entertaining in-house productions enjoyed in a friendly family atmosphere. Guests sit around large wooden tables and can bring their own picnic baskets or order from the cash bars or coffee stations.
Theatre on the Bay offers a good mix of local and international drama, musicals, comedy, cabaret, music and dance.

The Masque
I love The Masque Theatre in Muizenberg, it is the performance home to a number of amateur dramatic societies in Cape Town. I have seen so many fantastic top quality performances. If you not familiar with the theatre I suggest you check it out. You will love it!
Shakespeare’s Cape Town home is the Maynardville Open Air Theatre which hosts the Artscape’s annual Shakespear-in-the-Park sessions. Enjoy professional Shakespeare productions under the stars with stars.
