GAP
Mind the Gap! How many underground travelers in the UK and visitors alike have heard those words before stepping over the Gap? The buzz word here is. Hello Gap South Africa and not mind the Gap.
Above ground and gaining territory globally, south of the border the Gap has been bridged. Brand new in Cape Town, the well-known international brand has opened its first free-standing stores in South Africa, with a relaxed look in store for you.
At the launch guests and media were treated to feast their eyes not only on the B! bold fabulous store in Tyger Valley Mall, but to feast themselves on canapés and Traditional bubbly put together by the Picnic Company who joined forces with urbantonic. Very very good! Liezel van der Westhuizen announced during this feast that the day had come, and after waiting 30 odd years Gap had reached us and it was time to rejoice!
International Gap, babyGap, GapKids, Papa’s and the Mama’s and lovers of Gap can now enjoy the luxury of this expansion with Cape Town on the map. Stefan Laban Managing Director of strategic alliances for Gap Inc. said “We are excited to bring Gap’s casual American style to more customers in Africa and introduce South African consumers to the brand’s store experience,” while this is what Hilton Mer, Executive Chairman of the Stuttafords Group had to say. “Over the last few years, we have established, through our Stuttafords department stores, the keen appetite for the Gap brand and products in South Africa, now it is natural and exciting with this extension for us to offer full Gap styles, in addition to the selective styles that will continue in our Stuttafords department stores.”
Only a 12 minute drive from the centre of Cape Town, the cutting-edge Tyger Valley shopping Mall, just off the N1, is that proof under one roof concept shopping is a winner, this is why Gap chose to join the hub in the heart of retail where it’s bound to pump!
When you walk out of Gap you bound to go back!
