Back Buzz With Goldfish
8.45 on a Sunday morning – time to get cracking on the blurb and stills from the interview with Dom and Dave from Goldfish. I had the absolute pleasure of meeting the boys before they jetted off to Europe. Goldfish is flying high with their new amazing video and single, “Washing Over Me”.
I was so excited to meet the guys from the biggest buzz in the South African music industry. My thanks must go to The Red Carpet Events Company, who asked me to interview the boys while they were here in Cape Town. I jumped at the opportunity. The idea of chatting with Dom and Dave, two remarkably talented musicians, was an exciting proposition and I was thrilled to have had the chance to do so.
Putting them ‘On The Spot’ for CTB, I asked them what makes their music unique and how it feels for the little fishies to have signed with the BIG fish EMI – such an amazing accomplishment.
It is amusing to think that the Bungalow, a top nosh restaurant, was La Med and that it was there that Goldfish, two surfer boys from Cape Town, played every Sunday night to a full house throughout the hot summer a few years ago. They rocked the popular beach club becoming an overnight local hit! Their eclectic alchemy of music was so different and electrifying that it sure got my attention.
Now that the boys have signed with EMI they will continue to climb to the top of the charts. Leaving Cape Town for Europe again this month, they will be busy on La Med and the buzz word again will be at Pacha, Ibiza, for the second year running.
