Lunch at Tintswalo Atlantic

This is the old Tintswalo that was devastated by the fire in 2015 the new Tintswalo is back on the Map.

We were invited for lunch to experience the secreted boutique hotel Tintswalo Atlantic.  Situated at the base of Chapman’s Peak in Hout Bay Tintswalo has unrivaled panoramic mountain and sea views. It forms part of the Tintswalo Group of Hotels.

We were greeted at the reception with a glass of Champagne and directed out to the Terrace which immediately took your breath away!  The views are as dramatic as they are beautiful, and the terrace is stunning in itself creating a feeling of literally being ‘on the rocks’. Tintswalo Atlantic affords an exceptional element of privacy and luxury that would be difficult to find elsewhere in the Western Cape, perfect for those wanting to escape prying eyes and media attention.

We sipped our aperitif while taking in the beauty until our table was ready. We decided on a bottle of  ‘Protea’ wine, a good Sauvignon Blanc, to go with our meal. Cape Malay tomato soup, followed by tender, tasty tempura prawns, which were exquisite, served with mango salsa, rocket, sweet chilli dressing and lemon mayonnaise, followed by succulent King Klip fillets served with lemon and parsley mash. This delightful dining experience concluded with a light, fluffy passion fruit panna-cotta, Kiwi carpaccio and strawberries, and of course espresso’s all round.

We were so relaxed and at home on the Terrace that we really didn’t want to leave this piece of paradise, but unfortunately work was calling and so we had to reluctantly drag our heels to the waiting curtsey car and reluctantly closed the door to an experience not likely to be beaten.
