The Grand Dédale Country Boutique Hotel is top of its class. This hidden jewel outside Wellington below the historic Bain’s Kloof Pass, sits comfortably in the valley, with views of the Groenberg, Limietberge and Hawekwa mountains. This Cape Dutch manor is charming and peaceful, the changing hypnotic light gently embraces Mother Nature when the sun begins to set. This first class, five star romantic abode, is paradise on earth and will be etched in my mind for years to come.

My personal experience while staying at the Grand Dédale was in total appreciation for the understated bliss; the fine touch to detail in our elegant suite, pastel colors mixed in with carefully chosen furniture, that blended throughout the Manor, gave an overall ambiance of tranquility. The staff moved about discreetly, materialising just at the right moment, to see to your needs, adding to the harmony of being there.

Lunch was on the veranda that overlooked a perfect view; it was absolutely breathtaking and at that moment it was, when time stood still. It didn’t stop there; high tea was served in the charming library and dinner was served in the privacy of our own dining room. This took the experience to yet another level. Chef Sarah, executed her creative, culinary dishes with ease, grace and flair, she accommodated our likes and dislikes to the preference of our taste. Sarah’s passion and love for cooking was truly a breath of fresh air.

To cap it all, The Grand Dédale is Grand without being ostentatious; complimenting nature and reminding us in a poetic way, that we live in one of the most exquisite parts of the world. In the category of lifestyle The Grand Dédale has the X-factor that works. Bringing home the Award winning Boutique Hotel 2015.
